Born in 1998, in the year of the Russian national currency crash, Anastasia Adasheva became an artist working with photography and photo collages as a medium. She creates surreal ironical images that are filled with a hybrid blend of mysticism, folklore, post-internet culture, and ex-soviet aesthetics. The images usually represent a situation that can be considered either a joke, a paradox, or an absurd coincidence, which makes the reality present on a picture real and not real, valid and not valid, true and false at the same time. That creates a mystical tension between the objects, which are human and non-human, dead or alive, existent now or never existent before. Within this approach, Anastasia explores the glitches/distortions/mutations of conciseness on a deep psychedelic travel simulated by pure visuality.
